>>> He needs to work on his hip rotation to specifically get the front leg and hip involved. What tends to happen is the fron leg and hip are used as a pivot point and the back leg and hip do all the work to push the hips around. Have him think that the front leg and hip also need to pull the hips around. A good example would be if you were to put your hands on his hips and rotated them you would have to push forward to make his back hip come around and at the same time pull backward to make his front hip come around (by the way this is another example of using torque in the swing). For your son to duplicate these movements he is not going to be able to bend the knee because he is going to have to use the front leg to push his front hip back and around. <<<

I am saddened by the spiteful responses you and others endure from a few persons who seem more interested in being hurtful than discussing differing viewpoints. Although we have many thousands coming to the site, it does seem sad that it can be tarnished by so few.

What constantly amazes me is the batters I've worked with have had dramatic improvements, yet when you begin to explain rotational mechanics to their team coaches they just can't believe that this would work. Go figure.

In any case, I hope to remember my mental note to avoid trying to help Phil or Bart. If in fact they are two people, or at least two people who aren't colluding. Alan, remember, "no good deed goes unpunished". ; )

These are society's rules not this site's, although they seem to be, sad to say, not as much in vogue as they used to be. Does that spell it out with sufficient clarity? Actually, this site is, if anything, overly tolerant of poor manners while being admirably tolerant of opposing viewpoints.

> Hey Hitman what is so arrogant about Phil asking a question and Bart answering the question? I dont see where you or Major Dan (aka Mark) answered the question. One reason this site has gone to hell is idiots such as yourself. I say if you dont have anything constructive to say, keep your mouth shut. One thing about thepitchingmound.com, the sie is run by kids but the discussion is always about hitting. What are you guys doing, trying to see who the stupidist prick is? If so, I say a close tie between Major Dan, Mark (Major Dan?), Phil, Bart and Hitman.

Hey Derby Boy
It is so strange how people don't have enough integrity to write their real name a long with their e-mail address. It really irritates me when there are heated discussions going on and some ignorant "no namer" doesn't have enough courage to write their real names. I just can't stand for people giving their time to help people with constructive advice and then some real pricks "including the original poster" criticize somebody for going out of their way to help someone.
So Derby Boy if that really is your name, your post must be the most ignorant post of batspeed.com history(Derby Boy)"Hey Hitman what is so arrogant about Phil asking a question and Bart answering the question?"and to top this amusing post off I will show a quote of the hypocrite aka Derby Boy himself"I say if you dont have anything constructive to say, keep your mouth shut." "What are you guys doing, trying to see who the stupidist prick is? If so, I say a close tie between Major Dan, Mark (Major Dan?), Phil, Bart and Hitman."
