Between letter high and head high. You should shift about 60 to 70 percent of your weight to your back foot.

You should put your hands where they are comfortable. You need to try putting your hands in different positions and find out what works for you. Most instuctors do not teach putting the hands letter high, as most guys won't be able to handle the high fastball. But, if you have a disciplined strike zone, you can get away with having your hands letter high. My suggestion - stand in the batters box, rest the bat on your shoulder, look at the pitcher, then raise your hands 2-4 inches. Start from here, and you will soon find your comfort zone and what works for you.
Your trigger should move your hands back 3-6 inches.
