Franco,

I plan on using the heavy bag for learning torque.

I will approach it like I do during any training/practice. Always working on different swing planes or contact locations from sets to sets or session to session. I'm going to put a target on the bag, the size of a ball. I will have at least four target from the knees to just above the waist.

I'll have them developing torque for the inside, middle, outside pitch locations as well. Either by having them change their distance away from the bag or (usually works better) having them change their stance orientation. Turning the bag slightly so the target is in the correct position.

I will also measure bat speed obtained by contact (great feedback of mechanics).

Always use your imagination when it comes to training and practice.
