The head does move although not very much. The head should reamin steady. Many great hitters the head may lower slightly at initiation this is natural as a result of the stride. The head will lower depending on the length of the stride. At contact through follow through the head may move several inches back toward the catcher. A natural result of the tremendous rotational forces in play.

I have not found one place on this site where Jack has said, before Joe A. brought it up, that the head should not move. Now the last post talks about Jacks comments in "truisms and Fallacies"
