Visualization techniques may help. Every practice swing he takes should be, in his mind, in clutch time of a game. He can do it in practice or lessons and also do it with just his bat, swinging at air in the garage or wherever. He should see himself stay calm, relaxed and focused, and come through with the big hit every time. Even see himself take a couple bad pitches before jumping on "his" pitch. Also, on deck in the game he can be visualizing whacking heck out of it at practice or lessons. Try to make practice at bats "feel" like game at bats and vice versa to make the karma as similar as possible.
