Hi Jim,

This is a follow-up to our email, we purchase the reflective tape from an automotive store (Pepboys). Most bats register fine without the tape, however, wood bats do require a reflective material.

Also, your right about trial and error. SwingMate is very easy to setup with the golf swing because the swing plane is the same for every swing and the golf club passes the exact same point every swing. When using it with baseball, our directions will provide a good starting point, but trial and error is often necessary to locate the best tripod location and angle of the SwingMate. Although, as you said, once you get it set correctly for baseball/softball, SwingMate is very consistent and accurate.
