Re: inside pitch kickin' my butt

Posted by: Skipper (csu27@yahoo.com) on Fri Feb 18 00:39:02 2000

Hello to all,
> I'm having trouble with the tight inside pitch. I don't seem to pick it up very well. I'm just wondering, could it be because the guy throwing b.p. to me is a 3/4, side arm thrower? He's right handed, and i'm left handed. I don't feel like i'm lunging, but the ball just seems to get there twice as fast, and i don't pick it up until it's too late. Any suggestions?

Zach,
The ball is getting on you twice as fast because you are reacting like it is down the middle or away.
CONTACT POINTS: The farther the ball is inside the more you must hit it out in front of the plate (or off you front hip). The more the ball is away the longer you should wait and let the ball get almost even with you befor contact. Below is a crude but mabey helpful look at contact points.
