happy feet

my daughter is 14 and plays fast pitch softball for her high school and little league teams, she has a beautiful swing but gets "happy feet" as she gets ready to swing. she steps back with her back foot and then tries to step forward with her front foot but by then it's too late which completely throws off her timing. this problem is compounded the faster the pitcher throws.how can I correct this and are their any good drills to help her with her timing and bat speed? i thank you and my daughter thanks you.
