Re: inside pitch kickin' my butt

>>>I'm having trouble with the tight inside pitch. I don't seem to pick it up very well. I'm just wondering, could it be because the guy throwing b.p. to me is a 3/4, side arm thrower? He's right handed, and i'm left handed. I don't feel like i'm lunging, but the ball just seems to get there twice as fast, and i don't pick it up until it's too late. Any suggestions? <<<

Hi Zack

I would really like to be of help. But not being able to study your swing I have no way of knowing if the problem is mechanical or visual. I had rather think it is visual. The path of the ball is coming at you from an angle a few degrees off from your normal sight pattern. Try moving your back foot away from the plate a couple of inches. See if this shifts your alignment so that the ball is arriving from a more familiar angle.
