My daughter has developed a blip in her swing. The bat jumps over the
ball then levels off on the follow through, sort of like a heart beat
on a moniter can anyone help? Her timing is right on but the bat seams
to "hop" over the ball.

causes the bat to "jump" over the ball...her hands are also tight on
the bat so that the wrists get into a "bind"...so when she swings, the
top wrist and hand rolls over the bottom and the bat jumps, you can
duplicate the effect quite simply...

grip so that the bat rotates inside the fingers at initiation of the
swing...she is also probably trying to make contact "out front" and
consequently "throwing the bat" out to the ball...this is a common
problem with easy fixes...just duplicate the effect then reverse
engineer her swing and you will be able to fix it using the Mankin
stuff.

hands are twisted so that the punching knucles line up, and the back
elbow is held high , the bat will hump as it goes thru the
contact/strike zone. This is common with a long, casting swing. The
hands need to be bottom hand palm down, and top hand palm up through
impact.

The blip in the linear swing comes from early wrist roll and can be
minimized by the doorknocker lined up grip in the fingers(golf)grip. In
the linear swing, the arms extend early and will start to roll anytime
contact is made out front.Linear/armswing coaches often make a point
of teaching the grip that allows the bat to become a straight
extension of the extended arms for this reason.

The blip in the rotational swing comes from wrist bind due to too
tight a tophand grip.Figure out what kind of swing you have and make
the correction. If you are rotational,Jack's tapes demonstrate this
well.If you aren't sure what kind of mechanics you have, you c
