Re: More Weight or Reps

I've read lots of different things concerning weight training for baseball. Some say reps are more important and some say more weight is good. What, in your opinion, is better for baseball training and why?

Both serve purposes ... More weight for strength and more reps for muscle endurance . But you need to cycle your training ... Heavier Weights with less reps during the baseball off season to build strength ... About 12 weeks .. And then Higher reps with less weights for another 12 weeks or so also including your skill training and drills .. And a more moderate program during the season ... Not forgeting those often neglected small rotor cuff muscles of the shoulder ..

I also found a pretty good site for a complete weight training program for high school , college , or one for just general rec. play ... Its www.eas.com

register for free and click on the training programs for sports ...
I think you might like it ...
