Pujols Swing - Real at bat vs. demo swing

Posted by: Sly (silvas-36176@mypacks.net)) on Thu Dec 9 19:05:48 2010

Why is it when Pujols (and others such as A-Rod) does a demonstration of his swing, it looks noticably different than when he takes a real swing in a game situation? I know there can be differences caused by type of pitch, pitch location, and whether he was fooled or not. but see for yourself.

I've included a link to a flash presentation where the swing is captured on video from 4 different camera positions simultaneously.(I actually like the swing he shows in the
demonstration - maybe more because he is not using that ultra wide stance he normally
uses).

I would be interested to know if most people like the mechanic in the demo swing?

Thanks,
