Re: bat size

It really depends on how tall he is to determine the length. I hqve had to buy a lot of bats to find the one I liked. I have used a 32" 27 oz for about 2 years and I am 15 and now that I am 6 feet tall I have decided to go to the 33" bat. Remember the smaller the bat the closer you have to be to the plate but a smaller bat gives you better bat control. I hope this can help you a little.

First let me say this site has enlightened me, great info. My son just turned 14 and is growing like a weed both in height and weight. Last year he used a 32" 25 oz bat with very good results through a 75 game schedule. Is there anything better than trial and error to gauge proper bat size? And how important is proper bat size to good bat speed? Please help, spring training is right around the corner in Pa.
