While pitching to one of the 8 yr olds, who has a good swing and always connects with the ball, the bat occasionally really stings his hands. I can't recognize what is wrong, and I am afraid he now afraid of it and not as agressive. What causes this?

You may want to also check his bat closely for hairline cracks around the end plug and down the barrel .
