Geoff, How many pitcher at the higher levels through a "fastball" very few if any. All pitches are either rising or dropping. The correct swing path is one that matches the plane of the ball. If a hitter is chopping down on every pitch they are NOT going to be very sucessiveful when they get older and defense's get better.
