Sammy's foot slide

Posted by: ddavies (dan_davies@hp.com) on Thu Feb 28 09:38:26 2002

Is Sammy Sosa's foot slide immediately before he swings considered a stride in the context of the discussions I'm reading on this board? He seems to slide his front foot, moving his whole body slightly forward, and then completely stopping all forward movement and going into his rotation. Its hard to find someone who swings harder and more successfully than him. He seems to embody the rotational concepts taught by Jack. Could/would/should we use him as an example of an ideal swing? I'm constantly on the lookout for visual examples to share with my boys, and there is an excellent example of Sammy swinging on the Setpro web site.
