Hi RQL

We would not advise using the unit with live bp. The unit emits a short (4 feet) narrow radar beam. It works great when focused on the ball setting on a tee or at the contact point with the bag. But I doubt if you would get consistent readings from the different swing planes associated with live bp. Plus, the unit could be hit by the ball.
