>>> Jack- have you had a chance to analyze Alex Rodriguez's swing this season? I'd love to hear your thoughts and see a slo-motion clip of him. <<<

Hi Carlos

I have some very interesting clips of A-Rod’s mechanics this spring where he is posting some great numbers. I also have clips of his swing last year and in 2003 when he was having trouble making solid contact. Using our new software, I ran a side-by-side comparison. This spring, his mechanics exhibits a good clean swing-plane. When he was in a slump, you can clearly see that his mechanics produced wrist-binds that caused serious flaws in his swing-plane -- looks more like a sine wave than a clean trajectory.

His problem was not that he was not generating great bat speed. His slump was due to flaws in his swing-plane that prevented him from making consistent hard contact. I had planed to post these clips with my analysis but all my time has been devoted to bringing our new products on line. – Maybe by next week I will have time to post them. I think you will find them as interesting as I did.
