You can drop your hands down as long as your head is moving forward as you will go into lead arm extension on the way to foot plant...BONDS

If you pump the hands down as you head is moving backwards still loading the back side with weight your dead meat

This is a pretty good rule to watch

The guys that pump the hands and hit very well are not breaking the rule

So hand pump is not always bad. Hope this helps
