Which baseball bat, wood or aluminum, would send a baseball a greater distance when hit?

All other things being equal, the aluminum bat will hit the ball farther, especially the high-performance bats that use technology to rebound the ball from contact.
The extra-light aluminum bats also allow you to generate greater batspeed which also increases distance.
