analysis of the swing

Posted by: John (liper@alltel.net) on Fri Mar 23 09:42:11 2007

I really enjoy reading everyone's thoughts and theory about the mechanics of the baseball swing. I've learned a lot by reading the message board, and I am just starting to dive into Jack's video. Can I get some comments and analysis on my son Patrick's swing? I could use some objective opinions. He turns nine years old soon. He consistently hits the ball very hard--and for as much distance as anyone in his league--but he tends to make contact way out in front. I would like to refine his swing so that he doesn't go to two strikes in every freakin' at bat. It's bad for Dad's heart! Maybe you can spot a flaw? Is his swing more rotational or linear at this point? The video takes about 6 seconds to download with a dsl connection or better:

I respect your opinions. Thanks in advance.
