Re: Re: Jason Giambi. Influence for us?
I understand now that when Jason Giambi came up to the
majors in 1995 he was a 6 2 175 avg. hitter. now he is a 6 31/2
235 pound slugger who can still hit for a great avg. with all his
bulk. i always thought he was fat but now i know. this may be a
little weird but would anybody no what kind of exercises he uses
in the off season to gain 60 pounds of muscle in 5 years? And i
no he can't use steroids because one he doesn't have vains
popping out of every inch of his body like Jose Canseco and two
because if he was signed by the yankees a few days ago he
would of had to pass a physical and when they took blood they
would of detected drugs but didn't.

I was a 6' tall, 183lb, 22 year old, 5th year college senior when I
started lifting weights seriously in October 1994. By the time
Christmas came around that year I weighed 205lbs with the help
of nothing but a protein supplement. I've taken creatine on and
off since then and last winter I topped of at about 245lbs. I still
play baseball competively and coach high school baseball. I
currently weigh about 225lbs.
I am not saying that Giambi never used steroids or doesn't use
other supplements, but I know that it is possible to gain weight
that kind of weight without steroids. I did this while working a full
time job, so you can imagine it is possible for professional
athletes to make such gains when their only job is to play
baseball and train to play baseball. In 1995 he also met up with
a pretty good baseball player and avid weighlifter by the name of
Mark McGwire.
