You've got to teach/convince them that the right way to do this is to make the adjustment by tilting the torso rather than extending the arms.

This is easier to do if you start out with the correct posture; with the knees bent, the butt sticking out, and the torso leaning slightly over the plate.
Too many guys start out too erect to begin with, which makes it hard to adjust the tilt of the torso.
