squishing the bug has got to be one of the most miss used/abused terms in teaching baseball.While the intent is to get the batter to use his/her hips it leads to the batter keeping their weight back if not taught properly.Squishing the bug does not mean"rub the bug into the ground" but that what it looks like to many coaches."Squishing the bug" is a RESULT of rotating the hips which cannot happen properly with weight left on the back foot.In your Hank Aaron example
he did exactly what "squishing the bug" teachers are trying to teach.He rotated his hips.
