That is a poor explanation of how separation/Xfacto works and how hip turn is used in the swing.

The amount of hip turn in the launch of the swing is not the issue. If you watch video intently, mlb players' hip line extends toward the base coach AT LAUNCH....and the actual amount of hip turn "in their launch" is 20-25 degrees.

A good swing is not from brute force rotation over 90 degrees or so. A good swing is from the stretch/unstretch that occurs over the 20 degrees or so mentioned above. ONLY with the unstretch can the swing be launched with the quickness and speed necessary to hit top pitching.
