The reason that there hasn't been a .400 hitter lately is because HITTING IS HARD. Even
when the pitch is a mistake the hitter still has to (1) Hit it hard and (2) Be lucky enough not
to have it caught.

Hitters make there money on the pitchers mistakes. The least amount of mistakes a
pitcher makes the more money he makes. The more times the hitter takes advantage of
the pitchers mistakes, the more money he makes. Mix in a little bit of a chess match, and
you have the greatest game in the world.
