Absolutely! In my opinion the tee is where the base of your mechanics all starts. If you know what your doing mechanic-wise you can hone down and correct your mistakes easier. Keep in mind quality repetition is the key, not quanity. Finding your rhythm and comfort zone is key. Seeing the inside part of the baseball is key. Hitting line drives only is detrimental during tee work. Learning to visualize a pitcher throwing while performing off of the tee is very important as well.

Now game play is much different because the ball moving and the timing issue, but quality repetition on the all three pitches (inside, middle, and outside)off of the tee creates good mechanical habits so that you don't have to think during a game. You just react.
