Dennis,

Who is the best hitter in the game today? Does he try to be rotational? Does he try to be
absolutely straight or linear with his mechanics? No matter who your idea of best hitter is,
the answer is that he is neither trying to rotate nor trying to be strictly linear. This is
crutial to anybody's arguement that a hitter should try to rotate as a base fundamental in
their swing. A good hitter has a fine balance of rotational and linear sensations in his
body and in his swing.

Furthermore, if you gave me a good Major League hitter that you thought had your so
called rotational mechanics, I will show you where he is or is trying to be linear in his
swing and approach. Does this make him a linear hitter...no, but it also shows that we
should not label him as a rotational hitter either. Its misleading to the student.

Jimmy
