Ok. Sigh...(1) I think there is a misinterpretation of some things that are going on in Ted's swing. (2) When TED talked about hitting the ball inside out, he wasn't necessarily talking about hitting the ball the other way. He always hit the ball inside out. Whether he got on top of the ball (by push swinging) right on the ball (level swinging-to the ball) or by swinging slightly up (from level to up about 10 degrees) HE ALWAYS HIT THE BALL INSIDE OUT. Ted was very logical. He interpreted his swing perfectly. He understood EVERYTHING that was going on at the plate. He was an astute student of the craft. He has not misunderstood anything that he preached. WE HAVE. And we've been doing it for years. Video has not unfortunately made everything easier to disect, some things easier some things harder. Even in his overhead still shots in TSoH, YES the path to the ball is going in a circular fashion, yes it is rotationg but it is inside out and you don't understand what that truly means. His path to the ball is straight it looks purely rotational because of his HIPS. How else could he hit for such a high avg? We know about the power. And yes you already mentioned this; "...BUT FOR THE MOST AND BEST PART HE WAS A ROTATIONAL PULL HITTER." How does a "pull" hitter such as ted williams hit for such a high avg? (.344) And I'll say this a thousand more times "The quickest way to get to two spots is in a straight line." (as far as hitting a baseball goes because you have to be...oh what's that word Ted would use?...Oh that's right-quickness). Not velocity.
