Re: Swinging the bat from a position resting on the shoulder.

"A local High School coach in Virginia is teaching his softball girls to swing the bat from the shoulder. The bat is placed on the rear shoulder, knob of the bat facing out and the player must swing from that point."

The idea is to put the bat in the plane of the swing.

I have used this approach with a few guys with decent success.
