Re: Help on Epstein's Torque

Has anyone had any success in teaching a hitter who rushes their hands to the ball (linear start to a swing), to stay back and let the lower body rotation start the swing?

When looking at the hitter on tape after weeks of work I can still see that in his mind he wants to hit the ball just like he had been taught for years...with his hands and arms. The hands fire pretty much simultaneously with the lower body.

Have you tried duct-taping his lead arm to his chest?
Do you use the heavy bag?
