Re: JACK'S NEW TRAINING AID NOW AVAILABLE
I have had this Aid for about a week now. My two boys have used it exclusively since it arrived. They take between 100-150 swings per day. We break it down to 30-40 swing intervals. I feel this prevents fatigue.
I have noticed that when they become fatigued their swing breaks down and I am afraid of this breakdown causing bad habits. The time between intervals is at least 30 minutes.
My question is should I be including live batting practice with these sessions. My idea is to continue these sessions exclusively with the Connector for at least another month before I start pitching to the boys. My feeling is that this will allow them to have the developed swing second nature before they hit live pitching. I am afraid if I combine the two from the beginning that two swings may be different thereby sending confusing signals to the mind and body on developing the proper swing.
Any thoughts? What would be the optimal training regimen for my two boys to follow. Their ages are 10 and 11. They have been playing and training for baseball for the last 4 years and are fairly advanced for their age.
We work out about 45 minutes a day. Please give me some advice on how best to optimize this time we spend on baseball. I do not want to spend any more time than this at their age. As they get older and if their passion for the game continues we will gradually increase our training time, but for now 45 minutes is plenty.I do not want burnout.
p.s. We have a cage, tees, soft toss machine and heavy bag in our basement available for the training session and am willing to get others devices if needed.
