> I was wanting some feedback on using pitching machines? I have a 12 yr old daughter
that is a very good hitter but is wanting more swing reps. As we all know, team practice is
limited so we thought this might be good to use individually on our own time. I have pros
& cons about using them. Some coaches love them, some refuse to use them. Are their
any specific guidlines or drills that should be used or suggested? Thanks!

Hi David,

I love using machines if used correctly. Make sure that there is some sort of rythm to the
ball comming out of the machine. If it is manually fed than the feeder should have some
sort of rythm in putting the bal into the machine (hold the ball high and show when the
ball will enter the machine). If it is automatic, make shure she sees some sort of timing
cue from the machine so that she can get ready and loaded with some rythm early.
Good luck.

Jimmy
