Not trying to rain on your parade as for the initiation of the swing and the ability to keeps hands ahead of elbow it is a great device. <<<

I understand your concern. After contact, the elbows do come closer together -- if the batter keeps both hands on the bat during the follow-through. We found that when the student releases the top-hand after contact, they noticed little stress to the arms. When hitting off a tee, I have the student practice the release at half speed until he feels comfortable with it. - Note that the student in the video hitting off the tee did release his top hand.

However, for the reasons you cited, we do not recommend hitting live pitching with the "Connector."
