Hi All

Both hitters were right you do swing down and you do swing up on the ball. It depends on from where you start. The bat starts from above your hands as you start to snap your wrists then it goes DOWN to below your hands just before the bat gets to contact then as the bat continues through the swing to just before contact through extension a great swing is matching the ball plane which is slightly UP. They are both right depending on where you start to explain the swing. Too much of one or the other will create a swing that looks like a U or a V which are both not good for contact or power.
