Hi Joe, using the pitching machine to relax hitters would be a good tool if it worked. I have seen pitching machines with wheels destroy timing faster than the tee or soft toss. I have seen the tee and soft toss drills take a good rotational swing to a linear swing in a hurry. I prefer live BP but not everyone is afforded that opportunity. If a wise coach makes sure soft toss and tee drills are performed with quality mechanics they can be very good. The heavy bag is the best tool for quality swing mechanics - chop the tree down or cut the ball in half with the axe. Best wishes to you as you find your way.
