Jimmy,
Go back to your website or forum where you debunk chaps like Jack And Mike. Although they do not get too detailed and specific in their explanation of the rotational swing in this public forum, you got to give them credit for bringing the youth closer to what the big leaguers do. Sure they use different lingo and cues to describe the motions, but so does Englishby. Jack's website is a great place to start for a better understanding of how to generate the energy needed for a more powerful swing.
Once a batter is advanced enough he can then scrutinize the even more minute moments in his swing.
What I do not comprehend is that guys like you go Linear/Rotational.
This is where I know you are not educated in physics and the laws of motion. At the moment the direction of a body in motion changes it's course, kE (energy) is drastically reduced. As a Mechanical Engineer I am well within the ball a park to comment on this. If you say otherwise, please give me your thoughts so I can redefine all 'drive systems' known to the modern man. Ask yourself why nature has taught us that rotation is far more efficient than linear force.
I do concede that Linear mechanics exist, but if you ask me, anytime you stress and overpower the muscles in the arms and hands, the conduit in bringing the bat to the ball, you loose precision.
Anyway, I was an exceptional player in my school days, I didnt make it to the big show, but had fun watching guys I grew up with go like Brett Barberie from Cerritos Artesia little league and a few more.
I choose to go further in the academic field. Come on down to The Netherlands, and see what I and a few others have done for baseball here.
Better yet, get a team together, and I'll bring some Europeans I have trained, and I can gaurantee you a ball game.
Put your money where your mouth is and SHOW us what you mean.
The Hitman
P.S. Please interpret this as friendly exchanging of wits as I do ;)
