Linear vs Rotational

Posted by: Paul P (hobb24@aol.com) on Wed Nov 28 08:20:46 2001

Let me start by saying I have read just about any book on both subjects, and I have viewed Jacks tape, but still I am confused.

Both styles advocate a stride to some degree, lets say 6-8". Both styles discuss a weight shift and hip turn.

I guess the point I am missing is to what degree do linear/rotational use the above mentioned mechanics. I know in linear almost all of the weight is off the back foot with laces facing the pitcher, you go from back to front. In rotational you go from back to center with more weight on the back foot, but how much?

I am just not real sure of the intricate differences. Any explanation would be helpful.

thanks
Paul
