I am so sick of backspin. Hearing about backspin. Reading about backspin. It's like the weather - it's something talked about by people without the sense or imagination to talk about anything else.

Let's think about this for a second, you back spin brain scientists out there: Most young players can't hit, period. Back spin, top spin, side spin, whatever. What they get is no spin.

There is nothing magic about back spin. Golfers know this. On the tee box, they try to apply equipment and swing technique to maximize ball speed and minimize ball spin. Why? A slowly rotating ball goes farther. Less drag, Einstein.

Back spin and downswing go hand in hand. Crutch of coaches who don't know how else to deal with barrel drag and barrel throwdown.

Take your back spin and go play with a yo-yo.
