Re: Drills and Torque

Regarding your question, torque basically put, is the force generated by spin. A couple simple tips to work on:

1. Make sure your stride shifts NO weight to your front leg.

2. Maintain balance over the balls of your feet.

3. Drive the ball of your foot into the ground, like pushing a nail into the ground, and turn your back knee and back shoelaces at the pitcher as fast as you can.

4. Keep the front leg firm throughout the swing. If your front knee begins to bend, torque begins to dissapate, like a leaky tire.

5. Keep your arms close to your body until you are ready to release your hands. The tighter you keep into your body, the faster the spin. Think of an ice skater; when she wants to spin faster, she tucks her arms in, to slow down, she extends them.

Everyone can improve on torque and quicken their swing.

Good Luck,

Ruben
