Jack, does a violent followthrough like Bernitz mean that batspeed is being generated too late in the swing. If not, how can you tell if you are generating bat speed after contact?
I think Burnitz just has a jerky swing, maybe you should try swinging out of your shoes and using a 1 handed follow through, i think you would have to agree that it would be hard to maintain balance, but if you are late getting to a pitch, then you wont have the maximum batspeed at contact, just remember what jack said, on middle in pitches at contact, your back arm should be in the classic L position while your chest points toward the pitcher, and going too much past that can decrease performance
