Re: Curveball Hitting!

Posted by: rql () on Fri Sep 28 19:06:20 2001

Does anyone have any advice and drills on how to hit the curveball. Th
anks, Dennis

I learned to hit a curveball by having every pitcher I could throw them at me in practice whenever possible.A drill you can try is to be in cage on concrete and throw 1 hoppers to hitter and let them look fb then read offspeed with the bounce.A tennis ball or rubber machine b
all for machine may work well.More important is the mental end.In curveball counts or 2 strikes you must know where a curve will start that brakes for a strike and tell yourself not to give up on a pitch that starts there.Often hitters read trajectory before spin then give up before they realize it will brake.
