Joe,

PLT stands for Pre-Launch Torque, and refers to the movement of the bat
head rearward prior to the initiation of shoulder rotation. Great power
hitters use this technique to develop bat speed early in the swing.
While not all hitters use this technique, it can help increase power
through greater bat speed, if applied properly just prior to THT.
