Front foot- stay closed or rotate to 45

Posted by: Dog (dawg11@flash.net) on Mon Dec 27 20:17:34 1999

Hello to all: Question, during the swing mechanics after taking a step to the pitcher with a closed front foot, should it stay closed or rotate naturally to approximately a 45 degree angle on the ball of the front foot? Would allowing this rotation complement hitting through the ball and allow the hips to reach full acceleration potential? Would keeping the front foot closed close out some hip rotation and hinder bat speed? I would appreciate anyone's thoughts on this topic..humbly..dog
