ok, I've been outa baseball for a couple years and just started practicing again, and I did a little research. I found out a ball hit at a 45 degree angle will atain maximum distance. That's simple physics. What I'm wondering is something else.

nevermind...it's too much trouble to explain the physics. If you want to know, go to cpsurf.com, go to mechanics, select chapter 3 and read up on vectors, and especially check out the stuff on Projectile Motion, as that is what we are talking about. Anyway, I'm not talking about BAT ANGLE, I'm talking about the ANGLE AT WHICH THE BALL LEAVES THE BAT. This is most easily attained by a 45 degree follow through, as follow through dictates direction. Try swining a bat at a ball, but instead of going all the way through, just stop pointing the bat in a direction. The ball should continue in that general path. Anyway, there's some simple stuff. if you don't understand it, just tell me and I'll bring home my physics book that actually says, word for word, that a ball hit at a 45 degree angle will attain maximum distance. Now, back to my ACTUAL QUESTION. The FOLLOW THROUGH!
