Re: What is a good batting stance

Hey i'm Andrew i'm 14 and i just wanted to know is my batting stance a good one. i'm a lefty. i hold the bat loose in my hands. both my front and back elbows are up. i kinda of bounce the bat off my shoulder every second like Alex Rodriguez. I hold my feet shoulder with apart with my knees bent. i stride with the toes on my feet touching the ground so when i turn i get more velocity on my hips and bat. is this a good batting stance.

Andrew,

Please tell me how far you stride? You can find out by smoothing the dirt where you stand. Then take your normal stance and take a swing. Try to do it with out thinking about it or you might change the distance. Close your eyes and just do it. Measure the distance from heel pring to heal print. Do this 4 or 5 times. It should be consistant. You should be able to tell if you are doing what you normally do.

Also, tell me how tall you are.

Joe A.
