I think standing with a wide stance at the plate and just lifting or turning your foot is much better then stepping foward. I mean what takes more time. Lifting the foot, or moving the foot. It may be a few tenths of a seconds less but hey lifting that foot may help you get around on a 90mph fastball someday. I'm 13 and I tried that for the first time this year. Guess what? I hit 1.000. 28 hits in 28 at bats. 20 for extra base hits. It was the best season I ever had
