The ProBatter system is, indeed, used by a number of MLB teams including the Chicago White Sox and NY Mets. There are presently 20 installations around the country using the equipment in New York, Connecicut, New Jersey, California, Texas, Nevada, Illinois and Canada. To correct any misunderstanding, the hitter actually hits against real baseballs (or pitching machine balls) NOT inanimate objects. The ball is released through a hole in the screen in synchronization with the projected image of an actual pitcher winding up and throwing (from both a full windup and stretch; lefy and righty). The website is www.probatter.com.
