Re: Middle School team

i'm 13 years old and last year when i tried out for my middle school team for the first but i didn't make it. my dream is to one day play pro baseball, but how can i accomplish that if i an't make a simple middle school team. and some kids that probably don't give 10 percent of the effort as me make it. why is that

That question is a hard one to answer without having watched you. Effort and love for the game is a great quality to have but if you keep doing the things the way you have always done you will keep getting the same thing ... If you give 110% effort with poor hitting mechanics you will keep hitting the same.. If you practice throwing and fielding with 110% effort with bad form... You will keep throwing the same ...

I have worked with kids for over 20 yrs... and ones like you that love the game and give all you have got are the ones I enjoy working with the most. I love watching a kid develop into a good player.

My only advise from what I know, is to ask this question to people that have watched you and that know and understand the game and would give you an honest opinion. "Possibly" your coach ... Or the school coach ... Ask him what he feels you need to work on and take it from there ...

When I was a kid , I was the same as you .. Baseball was my life... I ate baseball, slept baseball, played baseball ... I wanted to be a pro. My 2 dreams was 1st.. to be a major league player and my 2nd was a firefighter ...
I realized that I would never be a pro, but did realize my 2nd dream of being a firefighter ... So im a firefighter, and I still play baseball in a mens league with a few ex professionals as well as coach and teach kids...

Dreams are great things ... Keep working but be sure you are doing the right things... Never Give Up...
