I don't quite understand your point here! Some of the world class men softball pitchers reach speeds of 81 mph or better on their drop ball. They jump and replant to a distance of about 43' from home plate. The reaction time for a hitter would be approx. the same as facing a baseball pitcher throwing around 114 mph with some movement. I've clocked a world class pitcher as high as 84 mph, which would be equivalent to almost 118 mph in baseball (with movement).
